If you've been following me long enough you know how much I loved the first Guardians of the Galaxy and within the Marvel Cinematic Universe franchise it's my favorite out of any of those films. Ever since the first film ended I could not wait to see these characters again in another adventure and that director James Gunn would once again return to write and direct. I could not wait to finally see it with every trailer I enjoyed watching and seeing fragments of great character moments. It looked like this film would just be a great thrill ride like the first film and let me tell you...it's an even BETTER thrill ride than the first film!

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is everything I could ever ask for in a sequel to a film I adore and believe me that going into this I didn't really expect to enjoy it more than the first. I knew I would have a really good time, but I didn't think in the least bit that I would enjoy the experience more than the original. To me the best kinds of movie sequels are the ones that have you rethink the original and we look at such intriguing characters differently in the first film because of what was seen in the sequel. I cannot wait to watch the first one again with the knowledge that came from this new film because, man, do things happen that completely change the game. Also, in the future the idea of just having a great double header of two equally amazing efforts in the comic book film genre is something to be very happy about as a fan of this franchise.

As far as characters go they're just as lovable and a joy to watch on screen as they were in the first film. The talent is still there for every performance to bring life to these characters where you genuinely feel the character presence rather than actors just being...actors. No characters overshadowed other characters, both new and old, and when each had their moment to shine and those moments went down it was freaking brilliant!

The efforts in the performances were once again fabulous and due to such beyond unique talent in James Gunn for guiding these actors and telling this story I'm genuinely impressed how much this film was an emotional rollercoaster. On top of that, there was so much to blend in terms of its many emotions, but that called for a very well balanced tone where it didn't feel like a bunch of different movies in one film. Just like the first film, I was still very moved by the more emotional moments, enthralled by the intensity and so incredibly humored by the comedy. Every aspect that made the spirit of the first film come alive so well was showcased in just as great if not an even better fashion in this continuation.

Like I said the great direction from the first is still there in its execution and even the look of the film was equally as beautiful! The spectacle was really something special with great CGI detail and the action scenes were an insane blast to watch on screen. The soundtrack song compilation was equally just as awesome (see what I did) like the first. As a lover of classic rock I once again dug it in its fullest capacity. Tyler Bates's score also really hits and like the first I think it'll be a very underrated aspect. Also, the opening title sequence of this film might be one of the best opening title sequences I've ever seen. Probably in the top 2 best comic book title sequences of all time, maybe behind Watchmen.

I couldn't praise this film highly enough and even though you probably were all planning on giving it your time of day anyway all I'll say is keep seeing it and have yourself a fun blast and be moved in the best possible way! Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 once again reminds me why I cherish the cinema going experience for the extreme emotional rollercoaster I was in for! I couldn't be much happier with the end result!

Verdict: A+

I really adored this film and I'm proud to say it's among of the best comic book movies I've ever seen and one of my favorite comic book movie sequels of all time! See this movie an unhealthy amount of times because it's worth it! If you want to know my thoughts on the first film there's a link down below and be on the lookout for more Alien reviews before the release of Alien: Covenant, I have Alien 3 on the horizon. This upcoming week I also plan on reviewing The Circle, which was one of my most anticipated films of the year and despite what I heard I still want to give it a chance. For more updates be sure to follow me in the social media links below:

IS IT FAIR TO BE DONE WITH A FRANCHISE?

Have you ever had something you love that you felt so connected to? A movie, a show, a sport, a video game, a hobby? You’ll ride or die for it, no matter what it is? No matter the setbacks, if there are even tiny things about it you don’t like? For me, I’ve always had a heart for movies and cartoons, which evolved into my love of art, entertainment, and pop culture. I love that this is a society where there is so much amazing content to enjoy and a variety of it that can appeal to the different tastes we have. For those of you who don’t know the things I’m obsessed with, that isn’t just in the broad world of entertainment and pop culture I’ll basically narrow them down to being The Beatles, superheroes, fantasy stories, and of course Star Wars. There are definitely other individual movies, TV shows, and comics I’m obsessed with, but it would be a really long editorial if we fell down that rabbit hole. If you want to get to an idea of who I am as a person, those four things I mentione

MY JOURNEY WITH STAR WARS IN THE DISNEY-ERA

So this was yet another topic I've been meaning to tackle for some time because this new era of Star Wars may have brought about its critics and toxic fanbases, but there has honestly been so much good to come out of it. Communities I found online who get the same amount of joy from all eras of the franchise as I do. But honestly ever since the announcement of Lucasfilm being sold to Disney and of a new slew of films that included a new trilogy consisting of Episodes VII-XI, I can honestly say this took me on a journey I never realized I was on. And I wanted to take you all on this specific journey from the first announcement to right now since this new era has been one of the best things to happen to me in my film-loving life. This is my journey through the Disney-Era of Star Wars and how it's connected with me so much now. Back in 2012, I remember always loving Star Wars, but more so of the movies. The Clone Wars show was currently on, but it didn't have me a
