MOST ANTICIPATED MOVIES OF 2025 HONORABLE MENTIONS

Hey everyone! I'm back to talk some pop culture goodness (in written form) and what better way to kick off the year then to share the movies I am super excited to enjoy in 2025. Even though I can't tell you if this'll be another hit year of movies, there is still quite a bit that'll have me cherish the movie going experience and do it with my fiancee, family and friends. So without further ado here are my HONORABLE MENTIONS before the BIG 10!

PADDINGTON IN PERU looks like another delightful entry compared to its predecessors.

DOG MAN looks utterly bonkers, but a very creative DreamWorks project that looks to be fun on its own.

THE BAD GUYS 2 looks like so much fun and made me feel compelled to finally check out the previous movie. I just love how these DreamWorks movies have been looking from a fresh visual perspective.

MEGAN 2.0 is a horror sequel I'm honestly very pumped for because I loved the first movie so much for its thrills and originality.

PREDATOR BADLANDS will just be another awesome standalone film in the Predator series and seeing as Dan Trachtenberg will return to direct after directing Prey, I am beyond hyped!

MORTAL KOMBAT II is so exciting given how much I love this franchise down to the games and a few of the previous movies!

SAW XI is going to be another epic addition to what's already a fantastic mind-bending horror series.

FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY'S 2 is a sequel I can't wait to see given how much I was invested in the lore just by watching the first movie. I couldn't get into the games, but the movie was fun enough for me to enjoy the series and eventually see more of the story play out.

HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON looks like a very faithful adaptation to an animated film series that I love and I can't wait to see what will be added in the live action medium.

SNOW WHITE may be a controversial release from Disney and there's the whole live action remake argument. But I'm one of the fans that remains more positive to them and I think this looks very inviting and lighthearted. It will have the same heart as the original and will be so enjoyable in its own right.

LILO AND STITCH is probably the most excited I've ever been towards a Disney remake because I'm excited to see the sci-fi world of Stitch brought to live action. This looks to be just as enjoyable as the previous films and honestly I love seeing this love for Stitch continue. What's not to love?

CAPTAIN AMERICA BRAVE NEW WORLD looks just as gripping as the previous entries mainly Winter Soldier, Civil War, and The Falcon and Winter Soldier show. I love that it has that same spy-thriller edge while still feeling very much like a great, crazy comic run.

THUNDERBOLTS* (as its titled now) I'm more hyped for over Cap's new movie because of the idea of seeing a brand new team on screen with new dynamics and interactions and how it'll further what we love in the Marvel franchise.

THE KINGS OF KINGS looks like a beautiful interpretation about the life of Christ displayed in really stylistically unique CG animation that gives me stop motion vibes. I just love seeing how more films are enriching faith in a very spectacular fashion.

And lastly since it's considered a 2024 release (it was released at festivals and a couple major cities to qualify for Awards Season), I'm so excited to see that this movie will get a wide release.

THE DAY THE EARTH BLEW UP A LOONEY TUNES MOVIE is in my Top 2 Most Anticipated Animated Movies of all time (#1 will be discussed very soon ;) ). I can't tell you how happy I am to finally see a fully hand drawn animated movie with characters I've always loved. This'll be a whacky, imaginative, and freaking fun experience at the movies. It's awesome to see the love for these characters still alive in this day and age, treated with just as much as care as it was in its prime.

Those are my HONORABLE MENTIONS, so stay tuned for my Top 10 where I'll share the movies I'm even more delighted to finally see when the time comes. Hope you all enjoyed, can't wait to share the next thing and take care as always.

IS IT FAIR TO BE DONE WITH A FRANCHISE?

Have you ever had something you love that you felt so connected to? A movie, a show, a sport, a video game, a hobby? You’ll ride or die for it, no matter what it is? No matter the setbacks, if there are even tiny things about it you don’t like? For me, I’ve always had a heart for movies and cartoons, which evolved into my love of art, entertainment, and pop culture. I love that this is a society where there is so much amazing content to enjoy and a variety of it that can appeal to the different tastes we have. For those of you who don’t know the things I’m obsessed with, that isn’t just in the broad world of entertainment and pop culture I’ll basically narrow them down to being The Beatles, superheroes, fantasy stories, and of course Star Wars. There are definitely other individual movies, TV shows, and comics I’m obsessed with, but it would be a really long editorial if we fell down that rabbit hole. If you want to get to an idea of who I am as a person, those four things I mentione...

MY JOURNEY WITH STAR WARS IN THE DISNEY-ERA

So this was yet another topic I've been meaning to tackle for some time because this new era of Star Wars may have brought about its critics and toxic fanbases, but there has honestly been so much good to come out of it. Communities I found online who get the same amount of joy from all eras of the franchise as I do. But honestly ever since the announcement of Lucasfilm being sold to Disney and of a new slew of films that included a new trilogy consisting of Episodes VII-XI, I can honestly say this took me on a journey I never realized I was on. And I wanted to take you all on this specific journey from the first announcement to right now since this new era has been one of the best things to happen to me in my film-loving life. This is my journey through the Disney-Era of Star Wars and how it's connected with me so much now. Back in 2012, I remember always loving Star Wars, but more so of the movies. The Clone Wars show was currently on, but it didn't have me a...
